DOJ Speaks on Update Regarding the Gov. Roel Degamo Case

DOJ – The Department of Justice revealed the alleged main mastermind in the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

The probe on the death of the late former Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo continues. A few days ago, the Department of Justice said that the authorities arrested a suspect who is allegedly a main player in the plot fleeing Negros.

Then, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla did not reveal the identity of the alleged mastermind nabbed by the authorities. The authorities look into the possibility that there are two (2) to three (3) masterminds behind the killing of the Governor.

It was last March 4 when men wearing pixelated uniform entered the gate of the compound of Gov. Degamo in Pamplona and shot him. His ally and several civilians also lost their lives to the incident.

One of the suspects in the case accused Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. The Congressman who has yet to go home to the Philippines denied the accusation.

Recently, DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla named the alleged mastermind behind the killing of Gov. Roel Degamo whom the authorities arrested. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Justice Secretary believes that “Marvin Miranda” is not just a middleman in the plot. While Miranda appears to be one of the alleged masterminds behind the plot, Remulla said that Cong. Arnie Teves appears to be the main mastermind.

The DOJ Secretary even liked Teves as the executive producer and Miranda as the directing and casting director. The latter is allegedly the one who contacted the men who performed the job of killing the Governor.

Teves has yet to return amid all the accusations against him. He stressed his concern over his safety despite several agencies and known personalities assuring him of security.
