DOJ Chief Reveals Country Where Cong. Arnie Teves Might Be

DOJ CHIEF – Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Boying Remulla spoke on the whereabouts of Congressman Arnie Teves.

Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves is facing accusations about his alleged involvement on the death of Governor Roel Degamo. On March 4, the Governor was attacked in his home in Pamplona and the incident worked out by men wearing pixelated uniforms killed eight (8) other people.

During the attack, there were civilians who were at the house of the Governor to seek for help. Some of them fell victims to the motive against the Governor.

One of the suspects in the death of Gov. Roel Degamo claimed that Cong. Arnie Teves is allegedly the main player behind the plot to kill the Governor. The Congressman who is currently abroad denied the accusations about his alleged involvement in the case. According to him, both he and the Governor are victims in what is happening.

Teves refused to go home to the country despite the expiry of his travel clearance which was only until March 9. The House of Representatives suspended him from his congressional seat for 60 days over his extended stay abroad.

According to the Congressman, he is worried about his safety if he returns to the Philippines. He stressed that he really wants to return to the country but he fears for his life. His family joined the call for him to go home and face the accusations.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla expressed his belief that Cong. Arnie Teves may be still in Cambodia. The Justice Secretary also revealed that he has met with Teves’ younger brother, former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves, prior to the Holy Week break.

Henry Teves asserted his innocence from the death of Gov. Roel Degamo. He previously expressed his willingness to waive his right over the confidentiality of his phone and bank accounts to prove his innocence. The investigations are ongoing.
