Manny Pacquiao Opens up About Rift with MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons During Talks with Donaire

Pacquiao discloses rift with Sean Gibbons during a conversation with Donaire

MANNY PACQUIAO – The eight-division world champion opened up about his dispute with Sean Gibbons, the president of MP Promotions during a chance to talk with Filipino-American boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr.

It was just recently when the Elorde Awards Night at Okada Manila Grand Ballroom in Parañaque City was held. It was attended by the country’s best and finest boxers such as Pacquiao and Donaire.

Pacquiao got a chance to twalk with Donaire at one point. According to him, Gibbons had been using his name in an unfavorable manner, which he found disconcerting. In a video posted by Mandirigma80 Sports, Donaire can be seen approaching Pacquiao to discuss his issues with Gibbons.

To recall, Donaire and Gibbons once figured in an altercation that almost reached to a fistfight. Their feud started after Gibbons allegedly disrected his wife Rachel while having a confrontation in the US.

Donaire warned Pacquiao about Gibbons, calling him “sobrang pasaway” and asking the People’s Champ to intervene. Pacquiao then admitted that he was also unhappy with Gibbons, who was in charge of his boxing promotions, and accused him of using his name for personal gain.

“Sawayin mo yong kaibigan mong puti ha. Si Sean Gibbons, sobrang pasaway. Muntik na kami magkasuntukan niyan,” Donaire told Pacquiao. To which he responded: “Galit ako diyan! Ginagamit pangalan ko, sobrang dugas niyan. Laging ginagamit ang pangalan ko, wala sa ayos.”

Although the reason for Pacquiao’s derogatory remarks about Gibbons as a swindler remains unclear, some netizens speculate that the conflict could be linked to issues related to MP Promotions.
