Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves: “Expected ko na na ako na naman ang pagbibintangan”
ARNIE TEVES – The congressman of the 3rd district of Negros Oriental released a statement on the death of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
It was last March 4, 2023 when Governor Degamo and five others were gunned down and killed by unidentified gunmen in Pamplona, Negros Oriental. Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, the wife of Governor Degamo, revealed in a recently interview with Kabayan Noli de Castro that she has an idea on the “mastermind” behind the death of her husband.
Teves posted a video message on his Facebook page on Monday where he gave an update about his health and also spoke about the death of the Negros Oriental governor.
In the video, he said he knows that a lot of people are asking for his reaction about the occurrence in the province of Negros Oriental. According to him, he was breaking his silence after learning he could supposedly be tagged in the killing by a party he didn’t name.
“Ito ang matagal ko nang kinakatakot na mangyari. Bakit? Expected ko na na ako na naman ang pagbibintangan,” he said.

The congressman also said that he and his brother, former governor Henry Teves, won’t be the ones who will “benefit” from Roel Degamo’s death because it’s the vice governor who will take over the position if the governor is gone.
Based on a report, Negros Oriental Vice Governor Carlo Jorge Joan Reyes has been sworn into office as the new governor of the province on Saturday. He took his oath of office before DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr.
In the same video, Teves said that he’s currently abroad for stem cell treatment.
“Na-delay lang ito ng konti dahil nasa abroad din ako dahil overdue na ang aking pagpapagamot, ang aming pagpapalagay ng aking stem cell,” he said. “Awa ng Diyos, tapos nanaman po. Eh kailangan din natin ng ating health dahil health is wealth.”
