Here’s why Regine Velasquez’s guesting on Darna was canceled according to Jane de Leon
JANE DE LEON – The lead star of Mars Ravelo’s Darna has spoken about the canceled guesting of Asia’s Songbird in the top-rating Kapamilya series.
It was just recently when reports surfaced that the reason why Regine didn’t make it to Darna was because of Jane’s “pag-inarte.”
JRB Creative Production, the producer of the Kapamilya series, immediately issued a statement to clarify the canceled cameo of Regine. Based on their statement, Jane and Regine’s schedule did not match.
“Bilang paglilinaw, hindi natuloy ang guesting ni Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez sa “Mars Ravelo’s Darna” dahil hindi nagtugma ang schedule nila ni Jane De Leon. Buong puso kaming nagpapasalamat kay Regine sa malugod niyang pagtanggap sa aming imbitasyon,” they noted.
In the finale mediacon of Darna on Monday, January 30, 2023, Jane plead to the public to not exaggerate the issue. “Actually, for me, it was not an issue naman to begin with. Sadyang hindi lang talaga nagtugma ang schedule namin ni Ate Reg [Regine]. And I think it’s very normal naman sa mga artists,” she said.
According to Jane, when Regine was pitched to appear in the series, she’s rehearsing for her upcoming concert while she is having an endorsement show. She also denied that she and Regine have a conflict with each other. In fact, they met just recently. For now, Jane is looking forward to work with the Asia’s Songbird.
To recall, Regine Velasquez played the role of Darna in the 2003 movie, Captain Barbell.
