FAKE LAWYER – A man in Quezon City was arrested after he pretended to be a lawyer online, taking P18,000 from his victim, an online seller.

The suspect was identified as Ivan Blake Marquez, whoM the victim met in December last year. The victim first paid P6,000 to the suspect. They met several times in person so the victim paid P5,000 again, until it reached P18,000.

When searching on social media, the victim found out that Marquez is not a lawyer. “May nakita kaming post na scammer pala siya. Milyon-milyon po ang na-scam niya,” the victim said.

The police conducted an entrapment operation during the victim’s meet up with the fake lawyer. A swindling complaint will be filed against the suspect. Watch the report in the video provided below:

Apparently, the suspect refused to give any statement regarding his arrest.
