President Bongbong Marcos on Erwin Tulfo: “The time that he was running the DSWD, he did a very good job”
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President said that Erwin Tulfo “did a very good job” as the Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
To recall, it was last November 2022 when the Commission on Appointments deferred Erwin Tulfo’s confirmation as DSWD Secretary. Last December 2022, Edu Punay was named as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the department.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. had a special interview with the Philippine Broadcast Media at the Presidential Broadcast Studio in Malacañan Palace last January 23, 2023.
The President was asked in an interview if Erwin Tulfo was being considered for a presidential adviser’s post. According to him, they have plans for him.

Marcos also said that he’s hoping Erwin Tulfo will still be a part of his administration. He then recalled the time when Erwin Tulfo was running the DSWD.
“The time that he was running the DSWD, he did a very good job so we can’t lose that kind of asset,” the President said. “We’ll find something that he can do so we could take advantage of his good instincts when it comes to social service.”
On Tuesday, Erwin Tulfo posted on his Facebook page as he expressed his gratitude to the President for his continued trust and confidence. He also said that he’s only doing the directive of the President.
“Thank you for your continued trust and confidence Sir PBBM,” he said in a Facebook post. “Ginawa ko lang po utos ninyo at ang inaasahan ng taongbayan.”
