Prior to the showing of the MMFF entries on December 25, 2022 (Christmas Day), some of the lead stars of the eight official entries participated in the annual Parade of Stars.

Among those present in the said parade is It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda and former Kapamilya host Toni Gonzaga. The comedian stars in “Partners in Crime” starring Ivana Alawi while the latter star’s in “My Teacher”alongside Joey de Leon.

At one point, Vice went up to the float of Toni and they were spotted hugging each other. However, their encounter was tainted with negative comments. It was the topic during the vlog of Ogie Diaz and his co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena.

Some netizens claimed that there was “plastikan”between Vice and Toni. When Ogie was asked about it, he said: “Walang ibang tao na makakasagot sa mga katanungan mo kung hindi silang dalawa lang, hindi ang ibang tao”.

The talent manager added that many were glad they finally faced each other again.

It can be recalled that the two supported opposing candidates in the previous election. Vice rooted for former Vice President Leni Robredo for president while Toni supported President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. It was also during that time Toni left ABS-CBN.
