Ogie Diaz on Jake Zyrus concert: “Gusto raw nila yung boses nung Charice Pempengco pa siya”
JAKE ZYRUS – The concert of the singer in the US was allegedly a “flop” as some people allegedly prefered to hear the voice of “Charice Pempengco.”
Initially known as Charice Pempengco, the singer rose to fame when he performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and had concerts with David Foster and Andrea Bocelli. Aside from singing, he also ventured into acting after joining the cast of the TV series Glee.
In 2011, he released a single titled “Before It Explodes” which was written by Bruno Mars. In 2013, she came out as a gay woman. In 2017, he came out as a transgender male after having male chest reconstruction and beginning testosterone treatment. He adopted the name Jake Zyrus, and discontinued the use of the name “Charice Pempengco”.
It was on December 10 when he hold a concert in San Diego, California in USA. But according to the source of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, his latest show in the US was a “flop.”
Allegedly, the number of concertgoers who attended the show did not even fill half of the venue. It is said that the show did not become a hit because others preferred Charice Pempengco’s voice.
“Ang sabi ng iba na hindi nakapanood ng concert, intensyunal na hindi sila manood kasi gusto raw nila yung boses nung Charice Pempengco pa siya. Syempre nag-iba na ‘yung timbre ng boses ni Jake Zyrus, tapos mayroon pang chika na ‘yung mga nanonood parang hindi maka-connect kay Jake Zyrus dahil kanta lang ng kanta si Jake,” he said.
