Here’s the suggestion of Arnold Clavio on the funding of the Maharlika Wealth Fund
ARNOLD CLAVIO – The broadcast journalist suggests that the controversial estate tax of the Marcoses amounting to P203 billion should fund the Maharlika Wealth Fund.
The bill establishing the P275 billion Maharlika Wealth Fund (MWF) is being expedited by Congress. The bill was written by several lawmakers, including Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, a causing of the president, Yedda Romualdez, a representative for the Tingog Party List, and Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, the president’s son.
According to the proposed plan, the Maharlika fund would assemble P275 billion from banks and government pension funds for the purpose of funding pricey national development initiatives and other assets. It has come under fire from senators, representatives, and economists for having lax management controls and possibly putting pensioners at risk.
On Instagram, Arnold Clavio made a suggestion on how the government can accumulate funds for the controversial Maharlika Wealth Fund. He noted: “P203 B na estate tax … P275 B para sa Maharlika Wealth Fund … hmmm P72 B na lang ang kulang. Puwede na ba ?”
