It was just recently when a photo of a white Toyota Alphard with “PULISYA” hood markings and the logo of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was posted on social media. The luxurious vehicle was spotted along Ayala Center, Makati City.

The photo prompted the netizens to criticize the organization for allegedly buying luxurious cars. But NCRPO denied owning such a luxurious vehicle.

In a separate statement, the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) of the PNP said: “The PNP has no record of Toyota Alphard in its Property Book.”

The NCRPO stated that efforts have been made to determine the authenticity of the photo and locate the owner of the vehicle in order to file charges.

According to the NCRPO, Executive Order No. 297, Series of 2000, forbids the unauthorized manufacture, sale, distribution, and use of PNP uniforms, insignias, and other accouterments.

A penalty of arresto mayor “shall be imposed upon any person who shall publicly and improperly make use of insignia, uniforms, or dress pertaining to an office not held by such person or to a class of persons of which he is not a member” as per the article 179 of the Republic Act. No. 3815 or the Revised Penal Code (RA 3815).

Meanwhile, the Makati City Police Station as well as other units of NCRPO have been alerted to verify the car’s legitimacy and identity. Toyota Alphard cost more than 4 million pesos.
