Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told is a movie produced by Atty. Topacio depicts the tragedy that befell the soldiers involved in the SAF’s “Oplan Exodus” on January 25, 2015, in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

It stars Paolo Gumabao, Edu Manzano, Aljur Abrenica, Claudine Barretto, Gerald Santos, Alan Paule, Rey “PJ” Abellana, Jojo Abellana, Ronnie Liang, Myrtle Sarrosa, Ritz Azul, Rez Cortez, Juan Rodrigo, Jojo Alejar, Jim Pebanco, Tom Olivar and to name few.

Earlier, a part of the movie took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein the latter claimed that the screening of the movie in Baguio is already a “premiere night.” Based on the rules of MMFF, official entries are not allowed for screening before the film festival.

According to Atty. Ferdie Topacio, “Unang-una, hindi puwedeng maging premiere night yun. At the time, it was a rough cut, e. Ang dami pang kulang na VFX (visual effects). May mga dapat pang tanggalin na hockey lights. Yung editing, hindi pa ganun kaganda. Andami pang mali na dapat ayusin. May mga VFX, sound effects nun, wala pa, e.”

He also stated that it was not a premiere because no playdate had been set. MMFF entries are typically released in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25.

Aside from that, there was no revenue raised during screening. They watched it at the Baguio Country Club and not at a cinema. He also stated that it was not open to the public and among those who attended the Mamasapano “screening” were Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, SAF 44 families, artists, and crew.
