Over the weekend, PBBM went to Singapore to watch the prestigious Formula One Grand Prix along with Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and to name a few.

It was confirmed by Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles who posted hours after Singaporean Minister Tan See Leng revealed that he flew to the city-state to watch the event.

Apparently, there were groups who chastised his visit to Singapore to watch the F1 Grand Prix, and among those is no less than Renato Reyes of BAYAN.

Reyes, a staunch critic of the Marcoses, called the chief executive “insensitive” for allegedly prioritizing the race instead of the country’s economic crisis.

“The weekend getaway to watch the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore during an economic crisis, in the aftermath of Karding, and with public debt breaching P13 trillion is insensitive, unnecessary and irresponsible,” he said.

According to him, if Marcos Jr. used a jet, whether private or government-owned, was also wrong.

“If private jet, who paid for it? Or was it lent by someone which would make it qualify as graft. If a government asset was used for the Singapore trip, that means we paid for that weekend getaway. Either way, may mali,” he noted.

He also questioned how much Marcos had spent during their previous visit to New York.
