Here’s the reaction of netizens on the P1 yearly salary of Paul Soriano as presidential adviser
PAUL SORIANO – Netizens gave mixed reactions on the P1 yearly salary of Toni Gonzaga’s husband as presidential adviser for creative communications.
Soriano is the husband of actress-host Toni Gonzaga.
He is the director of some well-known films such as A Journey Home (2009), Thelma (2011), Kid Kulafu (2015), and Dukot (2016).
During the election period, Paul served as director of campaign ads for his “ninong” President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
His most recent assignment at Malacañang Palace was as the director of the president’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA).
President Bongbong Marcos recently appointed Toni Gonzaga’s husband, director Paul Soriano, as the presidential adviser for creative communications.
The President revealed that Soriano’s annual salary for the said position will only be one peso.
According to Marcos, the Philippine government should concentrate on demonstrating to the rest of the world how creative Filipinos can be.
Soriano, for his part, stated that he accepted the position because he wanted to help the country and the president through his talent, skills, and knowledge as a director.
Netizens reacted differently to Soriano’s appointment after hearing the news.
Some netizens praised Soriano for his desire to use his talent for public service, while others speculated that he might be paid more than one peso per year for his role.
However, neither the president nor Soriano has mentioned receiving allowances other than P1 per year.
Here’s the reaction of some netizens according to Kami.com.ph:
“That is the spirit of Volunteerism to serve. Mabuhay ka!”
“Ows? Maniwala ako, sila pa”
“haha piso sahod? gasolina mahal na tas kakain pa siya habang nasa trabaho? tapos madami pa personal expenses tas 1?”
