Shopee, an online shopping giant based in Singapore, is currently making rounds following reports that it has decided to downsize some of its employees.

Amid their move to lay off some of their employees, actress-television host Toni Gonzaga was recently tapped as their newest brand ambassadress.

This prompted some netizens a call to boycott the online shopping giant by removing their accounts and uninstalling the app.

In his YouTube channel, “Tune In Kay Tunying”, Anthony Taberna aired his frustration to netizens, particularly Kakampinks who called on to boycott the online shopping giant.

Kakampinks are supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo who ran in the previous election for president but lost to incumbent Chief Executive, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Wala kayong kadala-dala… ‘yang boycott-boycott n’yo na ‘yan malaking kalokohan ‘yan,” he said.

He added: “Marami nang Pilipino ang nabu-buwiset diyan sa boycott, boycott i-style n’yo na ‘yan.”

He went on to say that the online shopping app is not the only one affected by what is going on, as its merchants are affected as well.

In the said vlog, Anthony Taberna also showed the tweet of veteran actor Jaime Fabregas who’s among those who deleted their Shopee account.

On the other hand, he congratulated Toni Gonzaga for her latest endorsement despite the massive criticism that she has been receiving.

Anthony Taberna and Toni Gonzaga are among the personalities who are part of the newest television network, ALLTV.
