Maricar Reyes: “There’s no problem with him, there’s no problem with me.”
MARICAR REYES — The actress recently spoke about not having a child after a 9-year marriage with her husband Richard Poon.
Maricar talked about the topic in Rica Peralejo’s September 11 vlog wherein she was the guest. The actress recalled that she and her husband first started trying to get pregnant in 2015, 2 years after they exchanged their wedding vows.
“We even got checked,” she said. “There’s no problem with him, there’s no problem with me. Feeling ko, we did our due diligence naman on our side [as] humanly possible. Pero wala e, so what are you going to do?”
The actress also shared that she never reached the point of being envious of mothers her age despite their unsuccessful attempt to have children. Instead, she said, “Meron lang talaga akong peace.”
According to her, not being a mother doesn’t make her feel like she’s “less of a person” or she’s “less of a female”.

However, she clarified that she’s not discrediting the emotions of women who have a challenging time to get pregnant.
“Some things, God makes easy for you, and some things, God makes a little more challenging,” she said.
Also, Rica and Maricar discussed dynamics in marriage — including handling arguments — in the said vlog. Maricar, who is running a food business, likewise shared that she’s open to returning to acting.
Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon got married in a small, private ceremony in Alabang last June 9, 2013. It was in June this year when the two marked their 9th wedding anniversary.
