MAID IN MALACAÑANG – The historical-family movie has been hailed as the 3rd highest-grossing Pinoy movie of all time after earning P650-M.

Maid in Malacañang is a movie about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.

It stars Cesar Montano as former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Diego Loyzaga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cristine Reyes as Senator Imee Marcos, and Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.

While those portrayed as house helpers of the Marcos family are Elizabeth Oropesa as Yaya Lucy, Beverly Salviejo as Yaya Biday, and Karla Estrada as Yaya Santa. The movie is directed by controversial director, Darryl Yap.

The controversial movie hit theaters on August 3.

Recently, Maid in Malacañang director Darryl Yap went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein posted an official list of the Top 20 highest-grossing films courtesy of the Philippine Box Office.

Based on the list, the number 1 highest-grossing film in the country is no less than the Hollywood movie, “Avengers Endgame” which earned P1.7 billion. Followed by Avengers Infinity War which earned P1.2 billion.

On the other hand, the number one Filipino movie is Hello Love Goodbye starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo which earned P880 million while The Hows Of Us starring Kathryn and Daniel Padilla got second place after earning P810 million.

After earning P650 million (global gross), in a few weeks, Maid In Malacañang clinched the third spot in the list of highest-grossing Pinoy films.
