Cong. Edward Hagedorn speaks on allegedly helping Leobert Dasmariñas
EDWARD HAGEDORN – The former Puerto Princesa City Mayor has issued a statement after “helping” Leobert Dasmariñas post a bail.
Authorities are still conducting an investigation into the case of Galleno, a 22-year-old lady from Palawan who went missing upon entering a mall there.
Weeks later, remains of the woman were found in Purok Pulang Lupa Brgy. Sta. Lourdes along with other personal belongings and identification cards owned by Galleno.
The remains underwent DNA testing and it turned out that the skeletons found were of Galleno.
The primary suspects in the case of Galleno are her cousins Leobert Dasmariñas and Jovert Valdestamon.
Meanwhile, 3rd District Congressman Edward Hagedorn released a statement regarding the issue he “helped” Dasmariñas post bail.
In an interview with the Palawan Star, Hagedorn detailed how he ended up helping the cousin of Jovelyn post bail.
According to him, the family and friends of Dasmariñas sought his help through a kagawad (village official).
The village official told him that Dasmariñas got involved in a stabbing incident, went into hiding, and eventually surrendered.
But after surrendering, Dasmariñas turned out to be one of the primary “suspects” in the abduction and killing of Galleno.
Congressman Edward Hagedorn said that the case in which he helped Dasmariñas post bail is not on the case of Jovelyn, but his stabbing of his cousin Jovert Valdestamon.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is also conducting a parallel investigation on the case of Jovelyn Galleno.
The public is now waiting for the results of the DNA testing conducted by NBI.
