6 arrested at a riot in Digos City free concert
DIGOS CITY – A free concert in the city ended up in a riot with at least six (6) people being arrested.
The incident was captured on video and it immediately went viral online.
According to Digos City Police Station, those who were apprehended were residents of Digos City.
They will be facing charges in connection with the violation of Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code or Alarms and Scandal, direct assault, and disobedience upon an agent of person in authority.
The free concert was brought by the local council amid the celebration of “Araw ng Digos City.”
Police Lieutenant Colonel Hamlet Lerios, acting chief ng Digos City Police Station, there’s no untoward incident that transpired that day.
In the video, a group of men were seen throwing chairs against each other.
“Hindi kasi natin ito maiwasan dahil sa kalasingan. Ang importante, walang nasaksak, walang nabaril. Ang binabantayan kasi namin, hindi lamang ang Rizal Park, kundi ang stretch ng kalsada diyan sa Rizal avenue, almost one kilometer ‘yan,” he said which was translated in Filipino.

Meanwhile, a transwoman will be charged by Digos City Police after taking off the upper portion of her clothing while dancing at an event in Araw ng Digos.
The transwoman has since apologized to the police but according to PNP, they will pursue charging the transwoman for the violation of article 200 of the Revised Penal Code or Grave Scandal.
