The suspect, identified as Dixter Estimado, was brought by the police to a prosecutor for an inquest proceeding.
On Sunday night, September 25, 2022, Estimado was caught trying to steal the car of Rogemel Aurelio, a resident of Bacolod City.
According to the police, Aurelio pulled over along the national highway in Tangub village to refill his car’s radiator tank. However, he forgot to lock the driver’s side door and left the car key in the ignition switch.
After sensing an opportunity, Estimado got into the car and drove away with Aurelio’s wife, Riche, in the front passenger seat.
She later jumped out of the speeding car and dialed Police Station 8 for assistance.
Puerto said they raised a flash alarm, which resulted in the suspect being pulled over by enforcers in front of ACCCO Housing in Alijis village.
Allegedly, Estimado was mobbed by bystanders when he got out of the car.
Meanwhile, the victims have decided to file a case against the carnapper.
