The police officer, whose name is withheld, is an active policeman with a rank of Police Chief Master Sergeant, according to the information retrieved by the Integrity Monitoring and Surveillance Group Region 4-a.

They first received information that the police officer is using a stolen vehicle.

Then, together with the PNP Highway Patrol Group, they launched an entrapment operation and eventually arrested the said policeman on board a stolen silver AUV.

Based on the database of HPG, it was in 2012 when the vehicle was first reported missing at Scout Borromeo, Barangay South Triangle Quezon City.

Aside from being a stolen vehicle, it also had a false license plate.

The police officer was asked for documents to prove that he bought the vehicle from someone else but he did not show anything.

IMEG has been reminding all police officers that the use or sale of stolen vehicles, or vehicles confiscated or recovered from an operation, is strictly prohibited.

The said policeman will face criminal and administrative charges.

Apparently, the Philippine National Police did not disclose the identity of the police officer.

This is not the first time that such an incident happened.

In 2020, a policeman was arrested after being caught driving a carnap SUV. According to HPG, the vehicle was forcibly confiscated from its owner since 2016.
