Here’s the message of Vince Tañada on Suzette Doctolero after she reviewed Katips
VINCE TAÑADA – The director of the musical movie Katips reacted to how GMA-7 writer Suzette Doctolero reviewed the film.
Katips is a musical drama film written and directed by Vincent M. Tañada.
It is about a group of student activists from the Katipunan area of Quezon City who struggled to protest the imposition of nationwide martial law in the 1970s.
The film stars Jerome Ponce, Vince Tañada, Mon Confiado, Sazchna Laparan, Nicole Laurel Asensio and to name a few.
Recently, Encantadia creator Suzette Doctolero went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein she gave a brief review of the movie.
According to her, she did not finish Katips which last for two hours and 22 minutes because of its “confusing story.”
But Atty. Vince Tañada, the writer, director and one of the lead stars of Katips was dismayed how the Doctolero reviewed the film.
“Nakakalungkot lang na sa babae pa nanggaling ‘yong ganyang mga salita. Yun na nga, kaya siguro ‘di ka nilabasan kasi ‘di mo tinapos yung palabas,” said Tañada.
Despite her criticism, Tañada thanked Doctolero for giving her time to buy a ticket and watch the movie although she did not finish it.
But it seemed Doctolero has a response to the director.
On Facebook, she shared what she went through during her first years as a writer.
In the last part of her post, she stressed: “Dapat ‘di rin weak at iyakin. Nakakalasing ang mga papuri, pero nakaka humble at natututo ka sa criticisms.”
