Here’s the message of Vilma Santos to bashers of Jane de Leon
VILMA SANTOS – The Star For All Seasons defended Darna actress Jane de Leon against bashers.
Vilma played the iconic Pinay superhero in four Darna movies; Lipad, Darna, Lipad (1973), Darna and the Giants (1973), Darna vs the Planet Women (1975), and Darna at Ding (1980).
On the other hand, Jane portrays Darna in the TV remake of Kapamilya Channel titled Mars Ravelo’s Darna.
Unfortunately, there were some who claimed that Jane being Darna is “walang dating” while others said that there are other actresses who are more deserving for the said role.
In an interview via PEP.ph, Vilma defended Jane against bashers.
According to her, Jane should make her bashers her motivation to prove her talent.
“Prove them wrong, di ba? Ganun lang yun, expect mga negative comments,” she said.
She also pleads to netizens to stop throwing negative comments at newbies like Jane.
“Dun sa mga kababayan natin, huwag naman. Sa mga newcomers na nagta-try ng best nila, subukan naman po nating suportahan,” she said.
“Huwag naman sa umpisa pa lang sisirain na natin yung mood ng artista, huwag naman. Bigyan naman natin ng chance yung iba,” she added.
Meanwhile, Darna also stars with Janella Salvador as Valentina, Joshua Garcia as Brian Samonte Robles, a policeman and Narda’s love interest, and Zaijan Jaranilla as Ricardo “Ding” Custodio, Narda’s brother and sidekick.
Aside from them also joining the series are Rio Locsin as Roberta Ferrer-Custodio, Paolo Gumabao as Noah Ballesteros and Iza Calzado.
