He finished a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Specialized in Filipino Language and Literature at Arellano University.

On Facebook, Michael flexed his mom who supported him throughout his studies.

His mother works as a small town lottery agent or Jueteng Kobrador.

Michael shared that their lifestory seemed like a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” entry.

“Nandiyan ang ipinagtabuyan kami ng sarili kong tatay, palayasin sa tinitirahan at magpalipat-lipat ng bahay, araw-araw na manghingi ng ulam sa mga karinderya,” he said.

There was even a time that his mom was sent to jail due to jueteng.

It was in 2018 when Michael went to Manila to pursue his college education. He also applied for a scholarship.

“Nakatapos ako ng kolehiyo sa isang mamahaling unibersidad nang kahit piso ay wala binayaran,” he said.

In the end, he finished as 2022 Overall TOP 1 and Class Valedictorian among seven campuses of the prestigious university.

His graduation will be on September 30 but currently, he’s working at Arellano University-Manila Campus as a Senior High School teacher.

He’s also going to take a master’s degree in education while preparing for his board exam.

In his post, he thanked his mom at the same time gave a message to his fellow education students.

“Pagbutihin at pagsikapan pa ninyo ang pag-aaral, at huwag ninyong balewalain na parang high school lang ang college,” he said.
