What Mariel Pamintuan has to say about her tactless comments on GMA Gala Night?
MARIEL PAMINTUAN – The newbie Kapuso star took to social media wherein she apologized after receiving backlash due to her tactless comments about GMA Gala Night.
It was on July 30 when GMA Gala Night took place. It was attended by the country’s famous Kapuso stars.
Among those who attended the event was Mariel Pamintuan, a contract artist of Sparkle, the GMA talent management arm- formerly known as GMA Artist Center.
Before she became a Kapuso star, she started her career as a talent of Star Magic of ABS-CBN.
During the GMA Gala Night 2022, Mariel made tactless comments about the event.
At one point, she said that she was just pretending to enjoy the GMA Gala Night as if she doesn’t know anyone there.
In another video, she can be seen with two other Kapuso newbies who can be heard bashing the taste of the food.
Through TikTok, Mariel apologized and explained that she did not expect that people will take differently her “joke.”

According to her, she doesn’t have any intention to insult other GMA artists.
She stressed that what happened to her served her a lesson and promised to be careful with her actions.
Contrary to what she said in the viral video, Mariel claimed that she enjoyed the event because she saw her idols, such as Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera.
“So, I really am not sure if I made a bad impression. That was not my intention, never my intention,” she said.
