Parents enraged after Colegio de San Lorenzo announces closure without notice

COLEGIO DE SAN LORENZO – The video of the meeting between parents, guardians, and officials of the said institution located in Congressional Avenue, Project 8, Quezon City has been making a buzz on social media.

This was after the management of the school decided to permanently shut down the institution due to the low number of enrollees this academic year.

The parents were shocked since the school shut down was announced as classes were about to start. The opening of classes for the school year 2022-2023 will be on August 22, 2022.

In the videos spreading online, parents can be seen arguing with two representatives of the school. Their meeting took place at the basketball court.

A woman can be heard saying that there was a “news blackout” about the decision of the management of the school to shut down the institution.

Another woman said that the school continued accepting enrollees days prior and abruptly shut it down.

“Napakawalang kuwenta ng paaralang ito!” the woman said.

The woman also asked to release the requirements or documents of the students as soon as possible who are sure to be scrambling where to transfer.

Meanwhile, Colegio de San Lorenzo has released an official statement regarding the management’s decision to shut down the school.

Netizens expressed their disappointment at the said institution.

Others suggest making “legal action” against the school. Another netizen claimed that the institution was not transparent in allowing the students to enroll despite its status.
