The said institution located at Congressional Avenue, Project 8, Quezon City has been making a buzz on social media after it announced that its closing its doors to students.

The management of the school decided to permanently shut down the institution due to the low number of enrollees this academic year.

The parents were shocked since the school shut down as classes were about to open.

In the videos spreading online, parents can be seen arguing with two representatives of the school. Their meeting took place at the basketball court.

After earning backlash from netizens, Colegio de San Lorenzo released an official statement regarding the matter.

According to the school, the Board of Trustees decided to permanently shut down the institution.

They came across the decision “due to the financial instability and lack of financial viability brought about by the ongoing pandemic and exacerbated by consistent low enrollment turnout over the past years.”

The school stressed that the institution will have a hard time because of the “low turnout of enrollees this year.”

Colegio de San Lorenzo, on the other hand, assured the parents that they will give a full refund to those who have already enrolled.

They will also assist the students in their transfer to other schools.

The school has coordinated with other colleges and universities “of the same calibre” for the possibility of transferring college students.
