Why there was a delay in the announcement of winners during Bb. Pilipinas coronation according to Catriona Gray?
CATRIONA GRAY – The Miss Universe 2018 explained why there was a delay in the announcement of winners of the Binibining Pilipinas 2022.
It was on Sunday, July 31 when the 58th edition of Binibining Pilipinas took place.
The grand coronation night was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
At the end of the event, Nicole Borromeo of Cebu was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas International 2022, Gabrielle Basiano of Borongan, Eastern Samar was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022, Chelsea Fernandez of Tacloban was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2022, and Roberta Tamondong of San Pablo, Laguna was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2022.
On the other hand, Herlene Budol of Angono, Rizal, and Stacey Gabriel of Cainta, Rizal were named first and second runner-up respectively.
The pageant was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, actor Edward Barber and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo.
Apparently, the announcement of the winners has been delayed for several minutes.
Catriona took to the social media platform, Instagram wherein she posted a joint statement with Cordoves, of what has transpired during the announcement of winners on why it was delayed for several minutes.

Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. has yet to issue any statement on the matter.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa also shared her two cents on why the pageant’s announcement of winners was delayed.
“Walang cheka mga acclacoz, according to the BPCI correct ang results. Nalito lang daw sa floor hence the pause,” she said.
“O siya, siya, tulog na mga marites!” she added.
