Rita, who’s also known as Badjao Girl, gained online popularity after a photo of her taken by a certain Topher Quinto Burgo during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon became viral on social media.

Then, she joined the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother, as one of the lucky teen housemates of PBB Season 7.

At the time, Rita was only 13 years old. Her family along with her five other siblings traveled from Zamboanga all the way to Lucena City in Quezon hoping for a better life there.

Rita’s father used to work as a garbage man while her mother is a stay-at-home mom.

Fast forward, Badjao Girl has somehow achieved the status of a celebrity.

It was just recently when she appeared on the YouTube channel of Karen Davila wherein she was interviewed about the changes she has to deal with as a first-time mom.

According to her, a lot has changed since she became a mother.

It can be recalled that it was just recently when Rita Gaviola introduced her baby girl named Kiana.

She said that although she is ready for the new chapter of her life, it is still inevitable that she will be hurt by the negative comments of netizens.

But she and her partner consider their child a blessing.

In the middle of the interview, she revealed that she has a situation concerning her health.

Rita Gaviola revealed that she has a breast cyst.

“Nagpa-check-up na po ako dati. Meron po talaga siya. Sabi nila po, parang ano, bukol lang talaga. Normal lang sa babae,” she said.

Although it was not cancerous, she’s still worried about her health.

Meanwhile, Karen Davila promised that she will shoulder the checkup and treatment of Badjao Girl.
