Surigao del Norte Bet Reveals Reason She Was Disqualified
SURIGAO DEL NORTE – Michele Angela Okol, who hails from Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, revealed the reason she was disqualified from the Miss Philippines Earth 2022 pageant.
Pageant fans in the Philippines were glued to their tv, phones, or computers to watch the coronation night. Filipinos love watching beauty pageants like a Manny Pacquiao fight.
Many were sad after Miss Philippines Earth 2022 candidate Michele Angela Okol announced that she was disqualified from the pageant. She disclosed this in an Instagram post on Thursday, July 14.
Michele Angela Okol said she was disqualified from the Miss Philippines Earth 2022 pageant because her height ‘does not fit their pageant’s standards’. She said that she, her family, and her team have been working hard earlier in the year to meet the requirements for the pageant.
“My family, team, and I have worked hard to build up all the materials and requirements for this pageant since earlier this year. However, we seem to have forgotten about one factor—my height…”
“I was told that my height does not fit their pageant’s standards and that their organization would get bashed if they let someone below 5’4” push through the top 20 hence, being grounds for disqualification,” Michele added.
“Had we been measured earlier on and that this was the case, it would have been much easier to figure out what to do since we’ve already prepared all that was sent as requirements for both our online and face-to-face competition,” she continued.

Michele Angela Okol said she holds nothing against the organization and that she was grateful for the opportunity that she was given. The candidate from Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, assured her supporters this is not the end.
“After all, when one door closes, another one opens,” Michele said.
