Malacañang says PBBM To Visit Abra Once ‘All Clear’ Signal Is Given

Malacañang: “[Pres. Marcos] will make an inspection of the disaster areas as soon as he is given the all clear”

MALACAÑANG — On Wednesday, the Palace announced that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will visit earthquake-hit Abra once an “all clear” signal is given.

In a press briefing, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said that the President will make an inspection of the disaster areas as soon as he’s given the “all clear” and as soon as it’s safe for him to travel and to do so.

The press secretary noted that the President would also go to other areas in the province “if necessary”. She also said that the First Family are “all unharmed”.

The announcement came after a magnitude 7 earthquake struck Lagangilang, Abra around 8:43 in the morning, with strong intensities felt in different parts of the National Capitol Region.

Meanwhile, the President said in his social media post that his office has been receiving updates about the damage left by the earthquake. The President added that the government is ensuring prompt response to the needs of those affected by the disaster.

ABS-CBN News reported that employees and personnel of Malacañang complex evacuate their offices following a strong quake felt in different parts of the National Capitol Region.
