A 19-year-old namesake of John Lloyd Cruz was put behind bars due to illegal drugs
JOHN LLOD CRUZ – A 19-year-old namesake of the actor was arrested due to illegal drugs.
The suspect whose name is John Lloyd Cruz y Dequino was caught with illegal drugs in San Andres Bukid, Manila on Tuesday, July 26.
The suspect is currently being detained at Sta. Ana Police Station 6.
Based on the report of philstar.com, John Lloyd was arrested by the authorities at around 5 a.m.
At least three plastic sachets of shabu were confiscated from the suspect and the sachets contain about two grams of the illegal drugs with a street value of more or less P13000.
Under the law, anyone guilty of importation or sale of dangerous drugs, with the manufacture of illegal drugs, or with the operation of a drug den can be punished with life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from P500k to 10 million pesos.
On the other hand, anyone guilty of importing or selling drug precursors, protecting other violators, or working as an employee in a drug den can be punished with 12 years and a day to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine ranging from P100k to P500k
The maximum penalty is given if the sale or delivery was done within 100 meters of a school, if a minor was directly involved in the process of handling dangerous drugs, or if the victim of the offense is a mentally incapacitated individual.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd Cruz, the actor, is considered one of the best actors in the country. Throughout his acting career, he has earned numerous citations and awards.
