GQ features international singing sensation, Jake Zyrus, formerly known as Charice Pempengco
JAKE ZYRUS – The singer was featured in an international men’s magazine called GQ.
Initially known as Charice Pempengco, the singer rose to fame when he performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and had concerts with David Foster and Andrea Bocelli.
Aside from singing, he also ventured into acting after joining the cast of the TV series Glee.
In 2011, he released a single titled “Before It Explodes” which was written by Bruno Mars.
In 2013, she came out as a gay woman. In 2017, he came out as a transgender male after having male chest reconstruction and beginning testosterone treatment.
He adopted the name Jake Zyrus, and discontinued the use of the name “Charice Pempengco”.
Recently, he went to the social media platform wherein he thanked the international men’s magazine, GQ for featuring him, especially his story as a transman.

The singer posted his stint on GQ amid the celebration of Pride Month.
Meanwhile, June marks Pride Month. During this season, the members of the LGBT community are given recognition. Gender equality is also given emphasis as the country and the rest of the world commemorate Pride Month.
