Robinhood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla is an actor, politician, screenwriter, producer, and director.

He is known as the “Bad Boy” of Philippine cinema for portraying anti-hero protagonist gangster roles in films such as Anak ni Baby Ama, Grease Gun Gang, Bad Boy, and Bad Boy 2.

He has also been dubbed the “Prince of Action” of Philippine cinema.

Padilla is also active in television programs, having played lead roles in Basta’t Kasama Kita, Asian Treasures, Joaquin Bordado, Totoy Bato, Guns and Roses, and Toda Max.

Robin, a neophyte, led the previous senatorial election with over 26 million votes.

Followed by Loren Legarda with 24,264,969 votes, Raffy Tulfo with 23,396,954 votes, Sherwin Gatchalian with 20,602,655 votes, Francis Escudero with 20,271,458 votes, Mark Villar with 19,475,592 votes, Alan Peter Cayetano with 19,295,314 votes, Juan Miguel Zubiri with 18,734,336 votes, Joel Villanueva with 18,486,034 votes, JV Ejercito with 15,841,858 votes, Risa Hontiveros with 15,420,807 votes and Jinggoy Estrada with 15,108,625 votes.

Robin is expected to lead the committee on constitutional amendment and public information.

Apparently, there were people who are not in favor of his spot in the Senate. Some were questioning his political background as well as his intelligence in lawmaking.

For showbiz veteran Lolit Solis, the actor-turned-politician should prove that he deserves to be the number one senator in the recent election.

“Ang kailangan ngayon ipakita niya na karapat dapat siya sa naging tiwala sa kanya ng maraming bomoto. Dapat ang isipin ni Robin iyon pressure ng hinihintay na resulta sa kanyang performance as Senator. Number 1 ka kaya pang number 1 din dapat ang performance,” she wrote.
