Here’s the reason why Vice Ganda decided not to judge Idol PH Season 2
OGIE DIAZ – The talent manager and vlogger revealed the reason why Vice Ganda decided to back out from Idol Philippines Season 2.
Idol Philippines is a reality singing television competition broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and A2Z. The show aims to find new solo singing talents.
It was hosted by singer-actor Billy Crawford; while the judging panel is composed of singer-actress Regine Velasquez, comedian and television presenter Vice Ganda, singer-actor James Reid, and singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre.
The show’s first season aired on April 21, 2019 and concluded on July 28, 2019 naming newest Kapuso star Zephanie Dimaranan as the grand winner.
During the finale of the first season, Crawford confirmed that there will be a second season.
But due to the non-renewal of the Kapamilya network’s franchise, and with Crawford along with director Bobet Vidanes transferring on TV5, the second season will air with a new host and director.
It was just recently when the judges of the second season were revealed. Regine Velasquez and Moira dela Torre will return as judges.
Also joining the panel of judges is Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda as well as Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
Vice Ganda was supposed to be part of season 2 of Idol PH. However, after learning that Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo will not join as one of the judges of the show, he lost excitement and decided not to join as well.
“Excited siya to work with Sarah kasi parang yun lng yung nag-aano, yun ang nagpapa-angat ng pwet niya, nagpapa-excite sa kaniya para maging hurado uli,” Ogie Diaz said.
Then, he recommended Chito Miranda to replace him on the show.
