GRACE POE — The senator received the portrait of recognition as a “Living Legend – Outstanding Filipino” from the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) on behalf of her late mother Susan Roces.
On Twitter, the senator shared photos of herself receiving a token of appreciation for her mother from PHLPost officials.
In the caption, the senator thanked PHLPost for recognizing her mother as one of the “Living Legend – Outstanding Filipinos”. She said that her mother was truly proud and delighted to receive the award.
“Maraming salamat sa PHLPost sa pagkilala kay Susan Roces bilang isa sa mga Living Legend Outstanding Filipino. Tunay na ipinagmalaki at ikinagalak niyang matanggap ang parangal na ito,” the senator said.

To recall, it was last February when PHLPost launched its “Living Legends: Outstanding Filipinos Series 1,” which is the 2nd of a three-group series of stamps in order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the country’s first issuance of stamps.
Susan Roces was among those chosen for the new stamps, who have proven to be an inspiration in their respective fields.
Along with her are Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Gloria Romero, Rosa Rosal; scientists Dr. Baldomero Olivera and Dr. Ernesto O. Domingo; basketball player “El Presidente” Ramon Fernandez; and bowler Olivia “Bong” Coo.

Sharing Philippine Star’s Facebook post, PHLPost captioned that the Post Office honored Susan as an Outstanding Filipino last February.
“The Post Office honored Susan Roces, the Queen of Philippine Movies, as an Outstanding Filipino last February,” PHLPost said. “Her memory will live on, and people will remember her for giving joy and pride to the nation through film and television.”
