SARA DUTERTE — The Vice President-elect and outgoing Davao City mayor thanked those who greeted her on her birthday as she turned 44 on Tuesday, May 31.
The outgoing Davao City mayor is celebrating her 44th birthday on Tuesday, May 31. She took to social media to express gratitude to those who greeted her on her birthday.
“Salamat po sa mga greetings! Mahal ko kayo! Mahalin natin ang DepEd! Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas!” she said in a Facebook post.
The Vice President-elect was picked by her running mate, President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., to lead the Department of Education (DepEd) under his administration.
She said last May 12 that she and her running mate talked about how she could help the country and it was decided that she would work on producing skilled learners.

Among those who greeted her on her birthday is Bongbong Marcos, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Imelda Papin, Anthony Taberna, and Atty. Larry Gadon.
Meanwhile, Communications Secretary and acting Presidential Spokesperson Martin Andanar said in a press briefing on Tuesday that President Rodrigo Duterte is wishing his daughter “good health” and “success” in leading the Philippines as the country’s Vice President.
“The President’s wishes for our Vice President-elect are good health and success in her role as the second-highest official of the land,” Andanar said.
Meanwhile, the outgoing President held his last meeting with former and current Cabinet members in Malacañan.
