Santos trended on social media because of his report about the daughters of Vice President Leni Robredo on “Mata ng Agila”, the newscast program of NET25.

In the said program, the reporter called Robredo’s daughters Aika, Tricia, and Jillian “celebrity wannabes” and “kulang sa pansin” while they praised the children of presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Liza Araneta for being quiet.

The report stressed the active posting of Robredo on social media during Jillian’s graduation from New York University.

In a tweet, Ogie said: “Yung naka-move ka na kung hindi man wagi si VP Leni, pero ang mga paid trolls, di maka-move on kay VP Leni. Ano bang tawag sa mga ganitong klaseng nilalang?”

A few hours later, he retweeted a news video clip from Net 25 with the caption: “Nakakalungkot no? Pati sila, di maka-get over ke Leni. Ano pa kaya ang gusto nilang mangyari?.”

Lastly, Ogie retweeted a video of Alex Santos, a former news anchor of ABS-CBN whose now part of “Mata ng Agila.”

“Gusto kaya ni broadcaster Alex Santos itong ginagawa niya o wala lang siyang choice?” said Ogie Diaz.

Net25 is a media company owned by Iglesia Ni Cristo, a religious group that endorsed BBM and his running mate presumptive Vice President Sara Duterte.

Mata ng Agila, Alex Santos and Net25 have yet to issue any statement regarding the matter. However, some netizens have been calling Santos “unprofessional” and “biased.”
