Pres. Duterte Speaks on Term as President
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte stressed that he gave his best as president of the Philippines and apologized if it is lacking.
The Elections 2022 is over and the authorities are now in the process of canvassing the votes. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has made the partial and unofficial results from the automated election available to the public a few hours since most voting precincts closed last May 9.
Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the current administration are approaching the end of their term. His admin focused on the fight against corruption and illegal drugs in the country.
The 77-year-old President has promised during the campaign period in 2016 that he will clean the country from drugs in six (6) months. However, he admitted that he might have miscalculated the extent of its presence in the country.
Several drug personalities were nabbed under the current administration. Erring government officials and those that were linked to corruption were also fired from office or asked to tender their resignation.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during his speech at the inauguration of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s new head office in Pasay City, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte stressed that he gave his best as president of the country and apologized if it is lacking.
According to the 77-year-old Chief Executive, what he has done as president of the country is the best that his efforts can achieve. He expressed that the things he failed to do were not because of his shortcomings but because of the limited time. He stressed that six years is not enough to finish all his projects.
The President expressed his gratitude to the Filipinos for the honor of being the country’s leader. His daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, is the presumptive vice president of the country.
