A movie about the Marcoses? Here’s the statement of Darryl Yap
DARRYL YAP – The renowned director is interested to make a movie about the Marcoses.
Yap is considered one of the most popular directors in the country today.
He is behind the hit movies and independent films such as Jowable, Tililing and to name a few.
He’s also one of the staunch supporters of the UniTeam composed of presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and presumptive vice-president Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Recently, he went to social media wherein he expressed his interest to make a movie about the Marcos family.
Prior to that, Darryl Yap debunked rumors that he wanted to become the chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
This, after he became viral again due to the opinions that he is qualified to become the new head of the said agency.
“Kalma na po ‘yung mga direktor; hindi po totoong I’ll head FDCP; kasi kung totoo- ang una kong gagawin ay mag OPEN FORUM tayo, pag-usapan natin kung bakit lagi n’yo akong pinag-uusapan,” he said.
Since his election leave from Viva Films is over, he is looking forward to returning to the shooting.
But before that, he wanted to treat the 31 million Filipinos who voted for BBM to a victory watch party.
“Itodo na natin, How about a Movie about the Marcoses? Tingin n’yo?” he asked.
His post reached hundreds of shares and thousands of reactions and comments.
Some netizens told him that he should do it as soon as possible.
