In case BBM offers Clarita Carlos a government position, she said she’s willing to accept it
CLARITA CARLOS – The retired University of the Philippines (UP) professor shared that she is ready to accept a government position that might be offered by president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
In a Facebook post, Carlos shared her conversation with her friend about her possible entry into Marcos’ Cabinet.
According to her, she will accept the offer as long as she knows what her job will be.
“Siempre tatanggapin ko kung saklaw ng aking alam,” she said.
Recently, the possibility of her becoming Foreign Affairs Secretary under the next administration spread on social media.
But until now it has not been confirmed by the next president.
Meanwhile, Carlos is a retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines.
Carlos finished a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at the University of the Philippines, where she also earned master’s and doctorate degrees in Political Science.
She pursued her post-doctoral work in Political psychology and Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis at Cornell University and the University of California at Los Angeles, respectively.
From 1988 to 1998, Carlos worked as a consultant in the Senate of the Philippines.
She also served as President of the National Defense College of the Philippines from 1998 to October 2001.
Since 1993, she has been a consultant for the Local Government Development Foundation.
Carlos has lectured at the National Defense University in the United States as well as at the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats.
She is a recognized pioneer in Political Psychology in the country.
