Who is President-Elect Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s Choice for Tourism Secretary?

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President-Elect’s camp named the incoming secretary of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

The joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives has proclaimed the elected president and vice president of the Republic of the Philippines following the Elections 2022. Both local and national polls were held last May 9.

The leaderships of the Senate and the House raised the hand of presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos Jr., the elected president of the country who was voted by over 31 million people as per the results. He will be the country’s 17th president.

The camp of Marcos Jr. has yet to give details regarding his inauguration. According to his camp, they agreed to start planning his inauguration after he will be proclaimed.

Meanwhile, now that he was proclaimed as the next president of the country, president-elect Bongbong Marcos has started tapping people for certain government positions. His camp recently revealed the incoming secretary of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco will head the Tourism department under the administration of Marcos Jr. She is the spokesperson of vice president-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio, Marcos Jr.’s running-mate, during the campaign period.

Frasco won her re-election as mayor of Liloan. Incoming press secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles cited that the Liloan Mayor was “awarded the prestigious Presidential Lingkod Bayan Regional Award by the Civil Service Commission” in 2021. She also stressed that she was a top-performing local government executive in Central Visayas “ranking number 1 among 116 mayors in the entire region 7 and ranking 1 among all 44 mayors in the province of Cebu”.
