President-Elect Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Openness to Having Pres. Duterte as Drug Czar

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President-Elect spoke about his relationship with outgoing Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his openness to having him as the drug czar if he wants.

The term of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to end on June 30. Recently, his successor and the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines was proclaimed by the joint session of the 18th Congress.

The House and Senate leaderships raised the hand of former Senator Bongbong Marcos for being the president-elect of the Elections 2022. He led the presidential race with more than 16-million votes lead.

Marcos Jr., the standard-bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, in the Elections 2022, has yet to speak on his inauguration. His camp expressed that they agreed to start planning for his inauguration after he’s proclaimed as the elected president.

Now that he was already proclaimed, the camp of Marcos Jr. starts to unveil names of the people he wants to make an offer to be a part of his Cabinet member. Some personalities have accepted the offers to them.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, while he has yet to make an offer to Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, president-elect Bongbong Marcos expressed that he is open to making the outgoing President a drug czar under his term “if he wants to”.

Marcos Jr. stressed that he and Duterte have yet to talk about it but he is open to anyone who’s able to help in the government. Based on the report, he also mentioned the friendship between him and the outgoing President.

“Matagal na kaming magkaibigan ni PRRD, noong mayor pa siya long long time ago,” the President-Elect said.

According to the incoming President, what Pres. Duterte asked him before the elections is to continue the war against drugs. During the campaign period, the 77-year-old Chief Executive has released tirades against Marcos Jr. and even called him a “very weak leader”.
