The UniTeam tandem is reportedly planning to hold not one, not two, but three pre-election gatherings during the final week of the campaign period.

Citing a report obtained by Manila Bulletin, the report said that the three pre-election gatherings would be held in each of the Philippines’ major island groups: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Based on the report, the Visayas “miting de avance” will be held in Iloilo on May 3, followed by the Mindanao “miting de avance” in Davao City on May 5, and will hold its third and final “miting de avance” in a location to be determined in the National Capital Region (NCR) in Metro Manila on May 7.

The triple “miting de avance” can be considered a major flex over the UniTeam’s rival tandems since most of them only planned one such event ahead of the elections.

An “advance meeting” or “miting de avance” is considered a “go-home show” of the campaign period before the 2022 elections. There would be no campaigning allowed on May 8, the eve of the May 9 national and local elections.

Bongbong and Mayor Sara have consistently led presidential and vice-presidential surveys, respectively.

Meanwhile, presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo challenged Bongbong Marcos to a debate and the latter’s spokesperson said that it will never happen.

On Friday, Robredo’s running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan called on the members of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to respect their institution as they continue to tolerate some political candidates who are skipping their sponsored debates and interviews.

Baka naman bigyan ninyo ng konting respeto yung institusyon ng COMELEC… Hindi na nga humaharap sa debate ninyo, hindi pa humaharap sa interview ninyo, eh ano pang silbi ninyo? Pasensya na. Salamat,” Pangilinan said.
