Pacquiao will run for president in the coming May 9, 2022 election together with his runningmate Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza.

They will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Despite the low ratings, Pacquiao obtained in surveys, Senator Koko Pimentel believes that the presidential candidate will win the election.

“Alam pa rin namin ngayon that we still have a chance. I call it a narrow path to victory but still it is there,” Pimentel said in an interview.

Pimentel explained that survey firms have a new method of taking surveys.

According to him, survey firms may not have reached the poor population who are said to be mostly Pacquiao supporters.

Pimentel added that if Pacquiao lost the race, they will respect the people’s decision but they do not believe that he will withdraw his presidential bid.
