Recently, she went to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein she opened up about her condition.

The PBA courtside reporter was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia (GTN).

GTN is a type of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) that is almost always malignant. On the other hand, GTD is a group of rare diseases in which abnormal trophoblast cells grow inside the uterus after conception.

Here’s the Instagram post of Selina:

According to her, cancer was her biggest fear, and to have it in her twenties was a big shock for her.

In the last part of her post, she asked for prayers from her friends, family, and supporters.

Her post was then flooded with reactions and payers. Among those who commented are some of the renowned PBA stars such as Greg Slaughter, CJ Perez, RR Pogoy, Simon Enciso, and Javee Mocon.

It can be recalled that it was in January this year when she shared the sad news about her miscarriage.

Meanwhile, Selina’s husband Kevin Louie Platon Alas is a professional basketball player for the NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted second overall by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the 2014 PBA draft.
