This was after BCBP, expressed its support for the candidacy of presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

In an open letter that spread on social media, Querubin said he was given information by PNP, NTF-ELCAC officials and former NPA members about the alleged agreement between Robredo and the terrorist group.

According to Querubin, he could not bear to stay with the group that supports the candidate who is allegedly an ally of the CPP-NPA who took the lives of his fellow soldiers.

“As a soldier and a Medal of Valor awardee who has fought the CPP/NPA and a witness to soldiers who died in combat fighting the enemies of the state, I will not support a candidate who has alleged links with our enemies,” he said.

The former soldier confirmed that the open letter spreading on social media was true.

Querubin was one of the Medal of Valor awardees who showed support for Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Robredo’s rival in this election.

Querubin has been active in fighting the rebels, including the NPA.

The former colonel earned his Medal of Valor when they fought for 24 hours against 300 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in 2000.

Bongbong Marcos and Robredo are among the top contenders for president in the coming elections. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan are their respective running mates. They will go against the tandem of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza as well as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
