Are Davao Mayor Sara Duterte, Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Not Anymore Running-Mates?
SARA DUTERTE – The Lakas-CMD vice presidential bet and Davao City Mayor reacted to the rumored separation of her tandem with former Senator Bongbong Marcos.
As the May 2022 Election is drawing near, more speculations and issues are crossing the surface. On the part of the candidates, they are currently dealing with their hectic schedules in the pursuit to reach and campaign to more Filipinos as they can.
Usually, running-mates are visiting certain cities and provinces to campaign together. Grand rallies are also held. However, in the case of running-mates Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos, there are some events that they are not together.
The said scenarios caught the attention of the public and sparked rumors that the tandem of former Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is separating. To this, the presidential daughter and vice-presidential candidate broke her silence.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte denied the rumors that she is separating from her tandem with former Sen. Bongbong Marcos. Their alliance is called “UniTeam”.
According Mayor Sara, she and Marcos Jr. both have commitments on invitations being a Lakas-CMD member for her case and a member of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas in the case of her running-mate so there are events that they don’t go together. The presidential daughter also explained that her father, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, is possibly not endorsing her tandem with Marcos Jr. due to a personal decision and the differences in terms of the political parties they belong to.
Previously, the 76-year-old President expressed questions on why her daughter is running for vice-president amid being the frontrunner in the surveys for presidents. He also threw tirades against Marcos Jr. whom he described as a very weak leader.
