Pres. Duterte Praises DOH Sec. Duque Anew
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte praised Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III saying he did a good job that Filipinos will never forget.
The Philippines is fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic for more than two (2) years now. The pandemic urged the Filipinos to live under a “new normal” setting. Currently, restrictions are still up across the nation.
The public is encouraged to continue practicing the health protocols which include the wearing of face masks when going outdoors. The vaccination against COVID-19 is also ongoing. Several vaccine brands including Sinovac, Pfizer, Moderna, Sputnik V, and Janssen arrived in the country.
Some of the vaccines were procured by the national government while others were donated by other countries and entities. The vaccination of kids from 5-11 years old has also started.
The COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila have decreased. The National Capital Region (NCR) will remain under Alert Level 2 until the end of February.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte praised Department of Health (DOH) Sec. Francisco Duque III anew for leading the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the President told the Health Secretary that he did a good job that the Filipinos will not forget.
“That you have done good sa trabaho mo, and the Filipino will never forget that,” he said.
Pres. Duterte further told DOH Sec. Duque whom he defended from several calls to be fired from his post that it’s a “sacrifice” to keep on doing his job. He also revealed that he personally asked the Health Secretary several times to stay in his post as the country needs him.
Currently, the Philippines is in the pursuit of population protection against the virus. Restrictions have been eased and face-to-face classes were expanded in Metro Manila.
