Here’s the reaction of the grandmother of Jake Zyrus following his transformation
TESSIE RELUCIO – The grandmother of singer Jake Zyrus was saddened by his transformation according to entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin.
Jake Zyrus, who started off as Charice Pempengco, made rounds online following his dare-to-reveal photo.
Initially known as Charice, the singer rose to fame when he performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and had concerts with David Foster and Andrea Bocelli.
Aside from singing, he also ventured into acting after joining the cast of the TV series Glee.
In 2011, he released a single titled “Before It Explodes” which was written by Bruno Mars.
In 2013, she came out as a gay woman. In 2017, he came out as a transgender male after having male chest reconstruction and beginning testosterone treatment.
He adopted the name Jake Zyrus, and discontinued the use of the name “Charice Pempengco”.
Previously, he made rounds online following his dare-to-reveal photo.
It was the very first time Jake posted a photo of himself without wearing top part clothing since he underwent several procedures such as chest reconstruction.
Meanwhile, Jake Zyrus was one of the topics in the latest vlog of “Showbiz, Now Na”, the YouTube channel of Cristy Fermin along with Romel Chika and Morly Alinio.

According to Fermin, the grandmother of Jake was saddened as to what happened to the singer.
“Alam mo sabi nga ni Nanay Tessie na masyado siyang lungkot na lungkot sa nagaganap sa kanyang apo,” she said.
